On Your Floor: HER House
Rhett stops by for dinner at this Bay State Road co-op
BU Today’s newest video series, “On Your Floor,” which showcases different residence hall floors and specialty houses across campus, returns with a visit to the Harriet E. Richards Cooperative House, more commonly known as HER House.
The residence, which just celebrated its 85th anniversary, is one of the oldest cooperative dorms in the nation. It was established to provide women who otherwise would be unable to afford college a chance to attend BU by offering nominal room and board—a mission it continues today.
HER’s two dozen current residents recently invited Rhett the Terrier puppet to stop by for a little home cooking and a tour of the Bay State Road mansion-turned-dorm.
If you would like more information about applying to live in the HER House, email her.cooperative@gmail.com.
