As the holidays approach, some of the biggest and most anticipated Hollywood films of the year are being released over the coming weeks. According to Variety, the most eagerly awaited movie of the season is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, the fourth and final film adaptation of the popular Suzanne Collins novels. The film opens tomorrow across the country and some shows are reportedly already sold out.
Like its predecessors, The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, the latest film in the series stars Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence as heroine Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale. The new film is expected to be one of the highest grossing of the year. Part 1 had the biggest box office opening of any film last year, pulling in $123 million domestically. It earned a gross domestic total of $337 million. Part 2 is expected to beat that.
