And the Ugliest Holiday Sweater Winners Are…
Find out who took third, second, and first place

For our inaugural ugly holiday sweater contest, we heard from good sports around campus, and beyond—students, faculty, staff, and alumni—all happy to show off their festive attire. Winnowing down the 15 contestants to 3 prizewinners was hard—a tough job, but somebody had to do it. We took creativity into account and also looked for the sweaters that made the biggest statement.
Without further ado, the winners are:

First Prize: Nicky Eleuteri (CAS’18) Eleuteri took a $15 holiday sweater vest from Marshall’s and made it even more festive by adding bows and ornaments he’s collected over the years. Nothing subtle about this fashion statement. Photo by Cydney Scott

Second Prize: Elizabeth Cox (COM’17). Cox bought this sweater while studying abroad in England. Despite her fondness for holiday sweaters, she says, she never wears this one because the bell is noisy. It takes courage to dress as Mrs. Claus, and for that alone, we’re awarding Elizabeth second prize. Photo by Cydney Scott

Third Prize: Helen Houghton (CAS’20). Houghton bought this antler-festooned cat sweater at an H&M in Italy. Her own cat loves it: “She thinks the shine is quite magnificent,” Houghton says. Photo by Cydney Scott
Our thanks to everyone who participated. And if you missed entering our first ugly holiday sweater contest this year, fear not. We plan a reprise next December.
