This week, BU Today introduces a feature we’re calling “Threads.” Periodically, we’ll profile students who have a distinct sense of style and a personal philosophy about clothing and accessories. “Threads” kicked off with a profile of psychology major Arianna Davis (CAS’18).
Our second installment introduces economics major Joshua Hinnant (CAS’17), who was preparing to leave for a semester in London, his third Study Abroad trip, when we were shooting this video.
Hinnant builds his travel wardrobe around his shoes and admits to an eclectic approach to fashion. “I don’t try to limit myself to one style,” he says. “So one day I might be wearing preppy wear. The next day I might be wearing street wear. The next day I might be wearing some sort of formal wear.
“I’m not afraid to try new things, take chances, and take risks,” he says. “That’s how you push the boundaries of fashion.” The self-described “broke college student” buys frequently from eBay, but plans to do some shopping while he’s abroad. “The world,” he says, “is my inspiration.”
Do you have a keen eye for fashion, a well-honed sense of style? If you’d like to be considered for a “Threads” feature, email Alan Wong at alanwong@bu.edu.
