- Trivia contest winner receives two free tickets for show tomorrow
It’s time to return to that galaxy far, far away. We’re talking, of course, about the highly anticipated arrival of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, opening nationwide today. Industry experts predict that this weekend alone the film could rack up a domestic box office gross of over $200 million, making it only the fourth film ever to achieve that figure, along with The Avengers, Jurassic World, and 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Disney, the studio releasing The Last Jedi, has high hopes that it will outperform its 2015 predecessor, which grossed over $2 billion worldwide to become the second highest grossing film of all time.
In this follow-up to The Force Awakens, scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley) is now the protégé of Luke Skywalker (played once again by Mark Hamill). Rey and Luke train together in the hope of defeating the First Order and its evil leader, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Rounding out the cast are returning actors Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and John Boyega as Finn, as well as Star Wars newcomers Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.
BU Today is celebrating the film’s release with a trivia contest. Our lucky winner will receive two tickets to a screening tomorrow night, Saturday, December 16, at Regal Fenway Stadium 13.
To enter, answer the questions below and email them to today@bu.edu by 1 pm today, Friday, December 15. Don’t forget to include your phone number, email address, and BU affiliation. We’ll notify the winner and announce the name on BU Today by 2 pm, so be sure to check this afternoon. Good luck—and may the force be with you.
