PawSox Set to Wrangle with the Bisons Tonight

Want to take in some of the most competitive professional baseball around, where you can see some players on the cusp of jumping to the big leagues, and enjoy an exciting, family-friendly atmosphere without breaking the bank? Head over the Rhode Island border to Pawtucket tonight, where the Pawtucket Red Sox are hosting the Buffalo Bisons at McCoy Stadium.
First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the park gates opening one hour earlier. General admission seating is $6 for children and seniors and $9 for adults. For $14, patrons can enjoy field box seats and get closer to the action; reserved box seats in the second tier are $13. A bargain for families looking for a fun night out compared to MLB prices.
With a general admission ticket, fans can claim any available blue seat, head for the outfield bleachers, or lounge on the grassy berm near the PawSox bullpen in left field.
Founded in 1970 and member of the International League since 1973, the PawSox are the Triple-A affiliate of the Red Sox. The team features both veterans of the Red Sox minor-league system and exciting prospects.
McCoy Stadium, erected in 1942 and renovated in 1999, has a food court, concession stands, beer and wine, and murals around the park depicting Red Sox and PawSox legends from days gone by.
Looking for a souvenir? The official store opens at 9 a.m. on game days and remains open until game’s end. And autograph seekers can head to the PawSox dugout up to a half hour before game time for a chance at nabbing a prized signature. Fans can also wait outside the players’ entrance at the bottom of home plate after the game for another shot at getting a player’s John Hancock.

Take the Providence/Stoughton commuter rail line from South Station to Providence, the R-line to the Pawtucket Transit Center, the #80 bus to the Columbus FS Pond stop, and walk.
