Yule Love Our Top Three 2017 Ugly Holiday Sweater Picks
Take a look at who won
For our second annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest, more than two dozen students, faculty, and staff gamely donned their most festive (OK, in some cases over-the-top) holiday sweaters and showed up wearing them to face a camera in our 985 Comm Ave studio.
Our BU Today staff judges had the nearly impossible (fisticuffs were not outside the realm of possibility) task of selecting those that made the boldest statement.
Our winners:

Third Prize: Laura LaBrecque (CAS’18). LaBrecque bought this Shrek-inspired sweater from Tipsy Elves because it was one of her favorite movies growing up. One guess as to who is her favorite character. Photo by Jackie Ricciardi

Second Prize: Neus Codina, MET International director. Codina bought her sweater at a thrift store for $3.99 and festooned it with a few extras she sewed on, bringing the cost to $20. Photo by Jackie Ricciardi

First Prize: Rayhme Cleary, CGS administrative assistant. Nothing subtle about this sweater. Cleary took a green sweater from her husband’s closet and spruced it up with holiday decorations. She added a scarf and vintage pins, most given to her by her favorite aunt and dating from the 1940s. Photo by Cydney Scott
