    Sara Rimer A journalist for more than three decades, Sara Rimer worked at the Miami Herald, Washington Post and, for 26 years, the New York Times, where she was the New England bureau chief, and a national reporter covering education, aging, immigration, and other social justice issues. Her stories on the death penalty’s inequities were nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and cited in the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision outlawing the execution of people with intellectual disabilities. Her journalism honors include Columbia University’s Meyer Berger award for in-depth human interest reporting. She holds a BA degree in American Studies from the University of Michigan. Profile

How prophetic that Mr. Rolley provided this quote that he remembered from one of his professors, “You don’t want to use data the way a drunk man uses a lamp post–for support instead of illumination.” Dr. Kendi has already declared the answer to why racial disparities exist–racism. Now he has an additional $1.5 million to collect data to support his foregone conclusion that America and Americans are racist to the core.

    Sad as that is for all Americans, it’s particularly sad for Black Americans, since real solutions to racial disparities will likely be ignored if they don’t support Dr. Kendi’s conclusion of racism as the cause.
