A Time Out Market takeover, free food, and a trip to Encore casino
Congratulations, Class of 2022! You have successfully completed four years of college amidst a worldwide pandemic and in a rapidly changing cultural landscape.
As we count down to Commencement Day on Nickerson Field, Student Activities has organized a weeklong itinerary of on- and off-campus get-togethers, including a takeover of Time Out Market, an excursion to the Seaport, and a night out at Encore Boston Harbor casino.
And although all the events are free, you can “purchase” tickets to all Senior Week events here. But be sure to get your tickets ASAP—availability is quickly dwindling. And be sure to check the BU Senior Week website for the latest announcements about ticket availability, weather-related cancellations, or possible changes in venue.
Note: The Red Sox games for this year’s Senior Week are sold out.
Sunday, May 15
Time Out Takeover
BU is taking over the Fenway’s Time Out Market and Trillium Beer Garden. This dining-and-arts destination spans over 27,000 square feet, consisting of eateries, bars, a demo cooking area, and a video-installation wall. Come early, as the first 1,000 people in the door will receive a $20 gift card to use for food.
The Time Out Takeover, 401 Park Dr., Boston, is from 8 pm to midnight.
Monday, May 16
Seaport Day
The Seaport, Boston’s newest and probably trendiest neighborhood, also happens to have a beautiful view of the ocean. Whether you want to throw darts at Flight Club, bowl at Kings, or just enjoy some food and drink at either location, everyone is welcome.
Seaport Day is from 11 am to 2 pm at Flight Club and Kings, both at 60 Seaport Blvd., Boston.
Tuesday, May 17
Boston BBQ Showdown
Historically, Boston may be known for its seafood, but it has some sneaky good barbecue too. If you’ve been craving a taste of Southern cuisine, make sure to stop by the BU Beach on Tuesday to try out local spots Blue Ribbon, Redbones, Smoke Shop, and Sweet Cheeks. The restaurants will be serving fan favorites, like buttermilk biscuits, beef brisket, burnt ends, and pulled pork. And if you’re still not full, finish the meal with some FoMu ice cream.
Boston BBQ Showdown is from noon to 4 pm on the BU Beach.
Wednesday, May 18
Night at Encore
Dance the night away with fellow seniors during a BU-exclusive experience at the Memoire nightclub inside Encore Boston Harbor casino. This upscale club boasts marble tables, chandeliers, and a Funktion-One sound system, so come dressed to impress. Catch a bus shuttle from the GSU starting at 6 pm to take you directly to Encore.
Night at Encore, One Broadway, Everett, is from 9 pm to 1 am.
Thursday, May 19
Food Fest
Boston’s best food trucks are turning out for a senior celebration. Look out for your favorite trucks, including the Chubby Chickpea, Stuffed Sopapillas, and Jamaica Mi Hungry. There will also be a cash bar on the BU Beach.
Food Fest is from noon to 4 pm. The trucks will be parked in the College of Arts & Sciences parking lot, but the cash bar will be at the BU Beach.
