Here’s Why You Should Stop by Wednesday’s Boston Blooms Block Party
Enjoy food trucks, lawn games, and more
As employees, residents, students, and tourists begin trickling back into Boston and the city slowly reopens during the pandemic, Mayor Michelle Wu has partnered with the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District (BID), the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, and the Greenway BID to celebrate. The Boston Blooms Block Party, which stretches from South Station to Downtown Crossing on Summer and Winter Streets, will be filled with food, music, and more for Bostonians on Wednesday, April 13. Here are a few reasons why you should stop by.
Endless food and drink options
With various food trucks parked on the block all day long, there will be no shortage of dining options. From 7:30 to 10 am, North American Catering will be serving breakfast, with Downtown BID providing free coffee for all. As the afternoon approaches, more food trucks will arrive for lunch, from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Later in the day, Democracy Brewing and Downtown BID will be hosting a beer garden at Downtown Crossing for those 21 and older.
Live music
What’s a block party without some live entertainment? Throughout the day, event-goers can expect performances from JunkMusic, Oompa, and OrigiNation, to name a few. Music by Fabiola Mendez and Dephrase will kick off the day at 7:30 am, with more performances later in the afternoon.
Enjoy lawn games and more
Anyone up for a game of cornhole? How about some life-size Jenga? Downtown BID will be providing lawn games for guests to play throughout the day. The Boston Parks & Recreation Department will also host a photo booth from 4 to 8 pm.
Become a plant parent
Looking to activate your green thumb? Now’s your chance. There will be two plant giveaways over the course of the day, hosted by the Boston Parks & Recreation Department.
The block party is being held all day on Wednesday, April 13. For more information, visit the event’s website.
