Why should I go?
Following the success of the past winters’ Holiday Market at Snowport, the Seaport Summer Market is an outdoor retail experience that celebrates local entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, and artistry. This year, there are over 60 vendors participating (though they vary by week), in addition to food stalls and a special pop-up exhibition from the Boston Children’s Museum.
Recent vendors include Espoir Boston, a company that sells preserved roses; Gp Organics, which manufactures organic candles, soaps, and skincare products; and Barry’s Hot Sauce, which sells sugar-free, all-natural condiments.
After shopping, attendees can refuel at the al fresco dining area. Options include Jaju Pierogi, Naughty Waffle, and North East of the Border.
Kids in tow will want to stop by the Boston Children’s Museum pop-up “Dinos in Space,” an outpost of the main exhibition that opened this summer. The new exhibition uses murals, displays, and installations to combine the world of dinosaurs with the wonders of space.
The market is held in the parking lot adjacent to the Seaport Common, one of the area’s largest green spaces, and Cisco Brewers. The lot stretches an entire city block between Northern Avenue and Seaport Boulevard.
If you’re away this week, don’t worry—the market will return on the weekends of August 5 to 7 and September 16 to 18.
