Sights and Sounds from BU’s 150th Commencement
It was the perfect day for a graduation ceremony. Boston University’s 150th Commencement on Sunday took place under partly sunny skies with temperatures in the low 70s. An estimated 20,000 family members and friends gathered on Nickerson Field to cheer on the Class of 2023.
The event marked the last Commencement for President Robert A. Brown, who is stepping down after 18 years helming the University.
David Zaslav (LAW’85), president and chief executive officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, delivered the Commencement address and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. His presence drew protests from members of the Writers Guild of America, who had gathered outside of Nickerson Field. Hollywood writers have been on strike since May 2 in a labor dispute, largely over residuals from streaming media.
Congratulations to the 7,526 members of the Class of 2023!
