With Boston University’s 150th Commencement festivities fast approaching, we will soon be welcoming parents, family, and friends to our city. We also recognize the eccentric personalities that come to the surface on this particular weekend; the fun, the crazy, and the stressed (finding parking on Comm Ave can be tricky). Nonetheless, we celebrate – and prepare! Here are some of the personalities you can expect to see at this year’s commencement ceremony. Which one are you?

1. The student who misplaced their cap and gown on the morning of graduation:

This is a gif of a man wearing a costume, and the camera zooms in on him. He is making a face of defeat, with lips in a straight formation, letting out a sigh.

2. The student with all the honor cords:

This is a GIF from the popular TV show 'Friends', where one of the characters has multiple layers of clothing on. He is in an apartment is dramatically expressing the sentence "could I be wearing anymore clothes?" He throws his hand to the side and widens his eyes and shakes his head for dramatic effect. The GIF has a closed caption, with the question he is asking in the GIF, which is "Could I be wearing any more clothes?"

3. The student who stumbles on their way up to get their diploma:

There is a woman walking up the stairs at what appears to be an award show. She is in a white ball gown, going towards the center stage. On the third stair she trips and is bent over the stairs, taking a moment to get up from her fall.

4. The student who spent weeks decorating their graduation cap:

This is a GIF of a woman in front of a sewing machine and work station, expressing excitement. She is a smiling and punches the air with in celebration.

5. The student with no post-graduation plans yet:

This is a GIF from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air (a TV show), where Will Smith is sitting in a a chair and is shrugging. He is pursing his lips and the caption of the GIF says "It is what it is."

6. The family who cheers during the ceremony… even when they were instructed not to:

This is a GIF of a woman in an office building. The woman is wearing a purple shirt an has red hair and the GIF shows her standing up quickly from her desk cheering. She is fist-pumping her hand in the air out of excitement.

7. The stressed-out parent trying to find parking on Comm Ave, attempting to make it to the ceremony on time:

This is a GIF of a medieval looking character, wearing armor on his body. He has long grey hair and a long grey beard with a armored horse behind him. He is speaking, saying "we are at war," as he is raising his eyebrows. There is a closed caption on the image, that wrote out what he is saying.

No matter how stressful and often chaotic commencement weekend can be, just remember to take time to celebrate and not sweat the minor inconveniences. You’ve made it, Terriers; enjoy the moment!
