Erika Jordan Departs BU Alumni Engagement Office to Return to California
She takes position at University of Southern California, her alma mater and near where she grew up
Erika Jordan, who served for three years as Boston University’s vice president for alumni engagement and led a strategic expansion of alumni relations efforts worldwide, is leaving BU for California, her home state. Jordan was hired as associate senior vice president of alumni relations at University of Southern California, her alma mater and previous employer. She will start on August 6.
At BU, Jordan oversaw a 25 percent increase in alumni engagement while leading a post-pandemic reinvigoration of Alumni Weekend, a significant expansion of alumni networks, and several record-breaking Giving Days.
“Erika came here with a wealth of experience and expertise, and in partnership with BU Alumni Council leadership has strengthened alumni engagement across the board,” says Karen Engelbourg, senior vice president for development and alumni relations. “We look forward to building on her many contributions and wish her every success at USC.”
At USC, Jordan earned a master’s degree and also served as director of alumni relations and annual giving for the USC Marshall School of Business. In a note to the USC community, USC President Carol Folt notes Jordan grew up in the nearby Los Angeles neighborhood of Baldwin Hills. “With her stellar experience, boundless energy, and deep affection for our university, Erika is certain to excel in her new role,” Folt says.
