To Do Today: Knit & Crochet Night at Fenway Community Center
Create, chat, and relax
What?
Knit & Crochet Night, an event for knitters and crocheters of all skill levels to work on projects in a community setting.
When?
Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm.
Where?
The Fenway Community Center, 1282 Boylston St., Boston, a 10-minute walk from East Campus.
How much?
The event is free, and snacks and drinks will be provided. Attendees can bring their own knitting/crochet supplies or use the limited materials the community center offers.
Why should I go?
This Knit & Crochet Night at the Fenway Community Center invites knitters and crocheters of all levels (even beginners) to dabble in new projects or work on current projects. For those wishing to share their weaving knowledge, email ciara@fenwaycommunitycenter.org to lead and assist others at the event. Although snacks and drinks will be served, attendees can bring outside food. Grab takeout from one of the many surrounding restaurants in the Fenway area (Blaze Pizza is next door, and Cava is down the street) or bake a dessert to share with fellow community members.
If you’re stumped about what to create, keep reading. Have a friend’s birthday coming up? Crochet these coasters to hold their chilled drinks or knit a cozy scarf for the winter months. Are you planning on shopping a lot this summer? Try making this market bag to serve as a fashionable and functional accessory. For more advanced knitters, tackle a sweater or try a new stitch. Don’t want to use knitting needles or a crochet hook? Check out this arm knit blanket or learn how to finger knit. And for those who want to take the community aspect to the next level, recruit others to make granny squares and knit them together at the end of the event to create a blanket.
