March 27 to March 30
Boston is starting to bloom this weekend, as the city enjoys the first official week of spring. With excitement mounting for March Madness results and Marathon Monday, this is an ideal weekend to make the most of what the city has to offer.
Explore outings from a market of women-owned businesses to an Indian culture show.
The Triumph of Love
If midterm season has you down, brighten up your weekend with a musical comedy at the Huntington Theatre. Written by 18th-century French playwright Pierre Carlet de Chamblain de Marivaux, the story centers around a princess who tries to woo her prince, but must do so in disguise. With a story adapted by Stephen Wadsworth and directed by Loretta Greco, The Triumph of Love combines mistaken identities and rationalist philosophy to create a hilarious production.
The Triumph of Love runs through April 6 at the Huntington Theatre, 264 Huntington Ave., Boston. Buy tickets (ranging from $29 to $170) here.
Charles River Farmers Market
Fresh local produce is only a T journey away at the Charles River Farmers Market in Harvard Square. This market boasts most anything you need to make a meal, including local fruits and vegetables, meats, pasta, seafood, and cheese, most made by local vendors.
Friday, March 28, noon to 6 pm, at the corner of Elliot and Bennett Streets in Cambridge, in front of the Charles Hotel.
Mickey 17 at the Mugar Omni Theater
Twilight and Batman not enough to satisfy your Robert Pattinson fix? Swing by the Museum of Science on Friday or Saturday to catch Pattinson in the new film Mickey 17 at the museum’s Mugar Omni Theater. This sci-fi comedy follows a disposable crew member (Pattinson) on a space mission to colonize an ice planet. You’ll be able to see the film on New England’s only IMAX Dome screen.
Friday, March 28, 7 pm, and Saturday, March 29, 5 pm, Museum of Science Mugar Omni Theater, One Science Park, Boston. Tickets are $15 for general admission; buy them here.
