Quizzes in CH101 are given during lecture time as listed on the schedule. There will be a total of five quizzes, and the four (4) best quizzes will count towards your course grade. Topics will be posted at the end of the week prior to the quiz.
Your are required to abide by the following quiz and exam regulations:
Boston University treats cheating with zero tolerance. All students in CH101 are expected to maintain the highest degree of academic integrity, and you are responsibile for being aware of the contents of the Boston University Academic Conduct Code. The consequences of cheating are at a minimum that the score for work on which cheating occurs counts as 0, and all instances of misconduct will be reported to the Dean’s office.
For quizzes and the final exam you are ONLY permitted the use of:
Use of any other materials, resources, or people is cheating and a violation of the academic conduct code. All work submitted in CH101 must be your work alone.

3 | Mon 13 June | Quiz #3 is based on all of the course material (lecture, textbook, discussion, and lab) from Chapters 6, 7, and 8 in McQuarrie et al. While the quiz will focus on the new material, please note that many of the new topics are based on material from previous chapters. (The material on chapter 9 will be included on quiz 4.) |
4 | Mon 20 June | Quiz #4 is based on all of the course material (lecture, textbook, discussion, and lab) from Chapters 9, 10, and part of chapter 11 in McQuarrie et al. The material included from chapter 11 will be the material practiced in lecture and discussion (up to, but not including, limiting reagents). While the quiz will focus on the new material, please note that many of the new topics are based on material from previous chapters. (The remainder of the material on chapter 11 will be included on quiz 5.) |
5 | Mon 27 June | Quiz #5 is based on all of the course material (lecture, textbook, discussion, and lab) covering: limiting reagents and yield (last two sections of chapter 11), solutions (chapter 12), gases (chapter 13), and section 14.1. While the quiz will focus on the new material, please note that many of the new topics are based on material from previous chapters. (The remainder of the material in chapter 14 will be included on the final exam.) |
Final exam, (Thursday 30 June 2022, 10am-1pm). The final exam is based everything covered this semester. The final will only be begin at the scheduled time, so please make end-of-semester plans accordingly.

The CH101 Summer 2022 final exam will be held in LSE B01 (24 Cummington Mall).
