Hospitality Students Learn About Facility Design Through Glass Blowing Workshop
On Saturday, May 7, 2016, ten School of Hospitality Administration students attended a one-day glass blowing workshop at Diablo Glass School in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts. The event was made possible through a partnership with the Boston University Arts Initiative. The students were accompanied by Professor’s Courtney Suess-Raesinafchi and Makarand Mody; each student created and took home their own glass vessel.
Prior to her faculty position at Boston University, Dr. Courtney Suess-Raeisinafchi worked for Jordan Mozer + Associations in Chicago. In addition to architecture, she spent much time in industrial design labs and glass blowing studios creating unique prototypes for iconic New York Renaissance hotels.
The one-day workshop provided students with a unique, hands-on creative experience and enhanced lessons for students who have taken SHA HF322 Hospitality Design course.
