This past week, SHA hosted a different type of guest…

You’ve probably seen other schools bring in stress-relief dogs to help students get through finals, but here at SHA we went a step further: we got goats…and puppies, and kittens, and bunnies, and chicks and a pig. On Thursday, December 5th,  SHA invited to its lobby Barn Babies, the traveling petting zoo.

Barn Babies is the project of founder Linda Kauranen, who found inspiration for the idea in memories of visiting animal exhibits at traveling fairs. As a kid, she dreamed of a traveling petting zoo that could go anywhere and be available to anyone; now, that dream is a reality, and Barn Babies brings the cutest farm animals around to everyone in Massachusetts.

At SHA, Barn Babies offered much-appreciated relief for students who are currently facing approaching final exams and a mass of due dates for group projects, research papers, and more. The heavy end of the semester workload can place a burden on students, and Barn Babies is just one of the many ways BU SHA combats this stress. to destress even more, you can always keep an eye open for upcoming events, like our SHAliday celebration, to keep your mind off upcoming due dates. Plus, SHS is always available for students who need additional help or counseling.
