BU School of Hospitality Administration Marks 40th Anniversary with Year-long Celebrations, Special Events, and Speaker Series

(August 10, 2021) Boston, MA Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA) proudly kicks off its 40th anniversary this September 2021 with a year-long celebration featuring an enlightening and engaging line-up of special events to further build community, connections, and memorable moments – all hallmarks of hospitality. Highlights include the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture series, culinary activities, community service opportunities, and festivities reflecting the cultural diversity of our city and student body. These activations at SHA are complemented by hospitality-focused site visits and tours, curated through partnerships with businesses throughout the city of Boston and surrounding neighborhoods. The 40th-anniversary events are sponsored and coordinated by the Dean’s Office in collaboration with the SHA student government and committees, faculty, and staff. 

“It is with much anticipation and joy that we celebrate SHA’s anniversary and the school’s many accomplishments,” remarked Dean Arun Upneja, Ph.D. “This celebration reflects SHA’s mission to create enriching educational experiences that open the door to the ever-expanding opportunities in the world of hospitality at our school, in the city of Boston, and around the world.” The 40th Anniversary celebrations are overseen by SHA Assistant Dean of Administration Anna Monahan and SHA staff member Mara Littman.
