Boston University School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA) Announces the Fall 2021 Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series
(October 7, 2021) Boston, MA – Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA) continues its year-long 40th-anniversary celebration with events and programs to mark this milestone including the return of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series. These talks feature top-level experts and entrepreneurs across the industry spectrum on select Fridays from 11 am to 12 pm EST.
The esteemed Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series, presents an outstanding line-up of influential C-Suite executives, representing the various avenues of the hospitality business, talking about the innovations, ideas, and trends that will shape the future of the industry. Following the in-person talks, all are invited to a reception with light refreshments in SHA’s lobby.

Throughout the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series, Arun Upneja, Ph.D., Dean of Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration, will join in conversation with hospitality leaders from various segments of the industry to gain insights into the career and life choices that have shaped these executives’ paths, values, and leadership styles. The series will also delve into the ways that these executives and their companies navigated this period of pivotal change.
“We created this series to engage in a candid dialogue with remarkable leaders on the state of the hospitality industry today,” noted Arun Upneja, Ph.D., Dean of Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration. “These visionaries will surely inspire us with their wisdom and thoughtful approach to the challenges ahead. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to fostering the growth of the next generation of hospitality leaders.”
Three of the four Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series this fall semester will be presented at BU School of Hospitality Administration, 928 Commonwealth Avenue (Auditorium – Room 110). Guests have the option of attending the talks virtually via the Zoom webinar. (The lecture on Friday, November 5, 2021, featuring Ray Bennett, will be hosted virtually.)
The Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series is free and open to the Boston University community and the general public. Registration for all events is required.
