
Eric Kurss
Market Sales Manager at La Colombe Coffee Roasters
Eric Kurss has been dedicated to hospitality from a young age. Growing up in Buffalo, NY, he spent much time in a kitchen with his mother, an esteemed pastry chef, learning the ins-and-outs of restaurant world and cooking.
Eric attended Boston University to study business, film and political science. He received a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Administration at SHA, with a minor in the School of Management. While attending BU, he worked with the Eliot Hotel, The Portman Ritz Carlton in Shanghai, China and at Garrett Harker’s famed Kenmore Square cocktail bar, The Hawthorne.
Upon graduation, Eric began his hospitality management career with James Beard award-winning Chef Jody Adams, as an opening manager at her Back Bay restaurant, Porto. Eric has consulted on beverage direction and restaurant openings in Boston and Charlotte, NC, working with companies including Kimpton Hotels, Haymaker, Saloniki and the Colonnade Hotel.
Eric currently works with La Colombe Coffee, consulting, training and building coffee programs for new and existing cafe spaces, restaurants and hotels throughout New England.
Eric has been featured in Business Insider, ABC News, Boston Magazine and the Improper Bostonian for his work and is delighted to be back at SHA to share his expertise.
