
Kristóf Gyódi
Visiting Researcher; Assistant Professor, University of Warsaw
Kristóf Gyódi is an assistant professor in the Department of Technological Change at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw. He is also a researcher at DELab UW (Digital Economy Lab), an interdisciplinary research institute at the University of Warsaw, where he leads the Research Lab on Digital Urban Transformation. Additionally, he is a visiting researcher at the Urban Big Data Centre at the University of Glasgow.
As a visiting researcher at Boston University School of Hospitality Administration, Kristóf is focusing on the empirical analysis of platform-mediated services, including short-term rentals.
Kristóf obtained his PhD in Economics in February 2022. His thesis examined the accommodation services provided via Airbnb in the context of their economic impact on major European cities. His research interests include urban issues related to digitalization and the use of data science methods. Kristóf has published as the first author in leading high-impact academic journals in the fields of management, hospitality, and computational social science, including Tourism Management, Current Issues in Tourism, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Quality & Quantity. In addition to being the principal investigator for his PhD project, funded by the National Science Centre in Poland, Kristóf has also participated in Horizon 2020 projects (part of the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet initiative) focused on identifying the social impact of digital technologies using text-mining and NLP methods.
