2019 Executive-In-Residence
On April 17 and 18, 2019, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Hyatt Sales Force, Asad Ahmed, served as Executive-in-Residence at the School of Hospitality Administration. At Hyatt, Asad is responsible for managing Hyatt’s customer-facing organization, globally, with the mandate of driving customer contact and maximizing system delivery across Hyatt hotels globally. He was appointed to this position May 1, 2017 and is based in Hyatt’s headquarters in downtown Chicago. Asad Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Boston University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Students partook in a wide-ranging “Learning from a Leader” conversation with Mr. Ahmed that was geared towards obtaining Mr. Ahmed’s unique perspectives on a variety of topics, including, but not limited to: Hyatt sales organization and structure, expanding client relationships, driving global consistency and collaboration, managing key vertical segments, and collaboration between Sales and Revenue Management, Marketing, Brands and Distribution. Students also learned his perspectives on Hyatt’s leadership in these various areas vis-a-vis competition, and how the changing hospitality industry is necessitating a re-thinking of the old ways of doing sales, marketing, and revenue management.
