Chief Executive Officer and Founder The Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar

Chris Simms is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the rapidly expanding Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, a Rocky Mountain-inspired restaurant known for its handcrafted food and drink. In 2003, Chris opened the first restaurant in Huntington Beach, California. He set out to create a unique experience for guests that delivers innovative twists on American dishes served in a setting inspired by a warm and contemporary mountain lodge.

Under his leadership, Lazy Dog employs more than 5,000 teammates and has grown to over 40 restaurants across eight states including: California, Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, Florida, and Georgia.

Chris’s decades of experience in hospitality began when he was only 14 years old running a snack bar at a local club and washing dishes at Snake River Grill in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. His experiences taught him the importance of hospitality, working closely with the community, and a commitment to quality in and out of the kitchen. Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University. Outside of work, he enjoys playing volleyball in his hometown of Manhattan Beach, California and spending time with his wife and four children.
