Jim Luchars

Senior Advisor, Stonebridge Companies

Jim Luchars serves as Senior Advisor to Stonebridge Companies, assisting in corporate strategy, capital structure and asset management. Jim served as Chief Investment Officer for the company from 2012 to 2022. In this role, he ran the real estate team and oversaw all new acquisition and development initiatives. Prior to joining Stonebridge, Jim was a Principal with AEW Capital Management in the firm’s opportunity fund group. In this capacity, he led AEW’s hospitality group with responsibility for investment origination and asset management for all hotel investments in North America. He was also responsible for office, retail, residential and industrial acquisitions in Chicago, Boston and Florida. Over the course of his tenure at AEW, Jim was involved in over $5.0 billion in hotel and commercial real estate transactions in the United States and Europe. He has over twenty-five years of real estate experience and six years of years of hotel operations experience. Prior to joining AEW Capital Management in 1996, Jim served as a senior consultant with the Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group in New York City. He has also held various management positions within the hospitality industry. Mr. Luchars is a graduate of Connecticut College (B.S.) and Cornell University (M.P.S. in Hotel Management and Business). Jim serves on the Franchise Advisory Committee (FAC) for Moxy, a Marriott lifestyle brand, and is also an adjunct professor at the Boston University School of Hotel Administration.
