Before you submit an application to GROW, please read over the information on this page carefully.
REQUIREMENTS:
-- You must currently be a junior in high school.
-- You must be enrolled in a high school in MA.
-- You must live within a 30-mile radius of Boston. However, priority will be given to students in the immediate metropolitan area.
-- You must be able to attend the orientaion on June 30th - July 1st and all six weeks of the program from July 2nd - August 8th M-F from 9:30AM-4:30PM (with July 4th off).
-- You should discuss participating in the program with your parents. If accepted into GROW, you will need to confirm you participation within 48 hours, so please discuss the potential of admittance with your parents so you are able to reply to any acceptance in a timely manner.
If you are compliant with all of the above, proceed with the application below. Please note that failure to follow the instructions below could have a bearing on your application.
Click on the application link to submit your application. Please note that the application will ask you to provide the name of your guidance counselor and the names of two teachers who will write a recommendation for you. At least one reference must be a science or math teacher, but it is preferable that both references be either current or former math or science teachers. Please note: we do not accept recommendations from family members or friends. If your transcript doesn't include grades for this year, please ask your guidance counselor to send this year's report card sent along with your transcript.
Your guidance counselor and both recommenders will automatically be sent an email with a link which they can use to submit any materials on your behalf. You will receive an email whenever anyone submits a transcript or recommendation for you.
Once you submit your application, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. This email will also include a link you can use to access your application. Please use this link to track your application and check to see if all materials have been submitted for you. Remember, it is your responsibility to make sure that all your materials (inclduing your transcript and recommendations) are submitted by April 28 so that you can be considered for an internship. One word of advice, don't wait until the last minute! No one will be able to submit anything on your behalf until you apply--so make sure you allow enough time for teachers to submit before the deadline.
