Full-Time
Assistant Professor in Administrative Sciences
Boston University invites applications for two faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Administrative Sciences department of Metropolitan College
The department is a leader in providing rigorous and industry-relevant education in areas such as applied business analytics, enterprise risk management, financial management, global marketing management, project management, and supply chain management. Courses are offered in flexible face-to-face, blended and online formats. It offers the acclaimed Boston University online Master of Science in Management programs, consistently ranked in the top ten best online graduate business programs by US News & World Report for more than ten years.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. We welcome applications from candidates with a terminal degree who have professional and industry experience as well as an interest in teaching and applied research. They will have quantitative and computational expertise in areas related to management – particularly in the areas of finance and/or AI and machine learning applications – and a demonstrated successful teaching and research record in applied management fields.
Responsibilities:
Faculty duties include teaching up to six courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels per academic year, including blended and online courses, conducting active research, participating in course and curriculum development, and mentoring part-time faculty and students, as well as providing service to the department, college and the university. These are full-time, non-tenure track appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor with a renewable contract of up to five years at a time.
The faculty position offers significant opportunity for interdisciplinary and collaborative scholarly work, including research and curriculum development within Metropolitan College and Boston University, as well as the greater Boston area.
Salary:
$120,000-$130,000 starting base salary per 9-month academic year (September through May), with additional earning opportunities for developing online courses, teaching additional courses during the academic year, and/or teaching in Boston University’s Summer Term. Metropolitan College also offers funding in support of faculty scholarship activities including research assistantships and conference travel.

Part-Time
Part-Time Lecturer in Actuarial Science
Boston University’s Metropolitan College is seeking applicants for part-time teaching positions in Actuarial Science. Candidates with strong backgrounds in other related quantitative areas are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in the related field preferred; Master’s degree or Associateship/Fellowship in Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society required. Prior teaching or professional experience in the discipline is a strong advantage.
Compensation is based on the union negotiated rates for part-time lecturers for Boston University (currently $7,880 per 4-credit course for probationary faculty and $10,260 for post-probationary faculty), and is paid on per-course, per-semester basis. One to two courses may be taught per semester depending on the needs of the academic department.

Part-time Lecturer in Gastronomy
Boston University’s Metropolitan College is seeking applicants for a part-time teaching position in Gastronomy with expertise suited to classes including Anthropology of Food, and Food and the Senses to begin in Fall 2026. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and inclusive syllabi are encouraged to apply. Both courses will be offered on campus and online in alternating semesters. The successful applicant will have an active research agenda in Food Studies evidenced by conference presentations and publications. The position will have a two-year contract with the potential for renewal. The teaching load will be two courses per semester with the option of teaching up to two courses in the Summer.
