The City Planning & Urban Affairs Programs at BU’s Metropolitan College prepares future leaders, practitioners, and innovators for the myriad political, social, and technical challenges that arise in urban planning and policymaking. Cathy Fletcher (MET’23), who earned her Master in City Planning at BU’s Metropolitan College, has been promoted to planning director for the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Previously the city’s senior city planner, Fletcher has expanded community engagement initiatives and won the city federal and state grant funding to develop sustainability efforts as well as safer streets, among other achievements.
