One of the many ways Boston University’s impact can be seen in the world beyond its campus was the involvement of the “BU Four” in the historic US men’s ice hockey victory in the 1980 Olympics. Heavy underdogs, when Team USA pulled off an unlikely and powerfully symbolic victory, they counted four Terriers on the roster—and today two are alumni of Metropolitan College.

BU celebrated its gold medal-winning alums with a celebration on February 29 before the BU-BC hockey game at Agganis Arena, with Jim Craig (Wheelock’80, MET’09) and David Silk (CAS’80, MET’92, Questrom’94) joining Mike Eruzione (Wheelock’77) and Jack O’Callahan (CAS’79) at center ice as a new celebratory banner was unveiled.
