Dimitar Trajanov

Visiting Research Professor, Computer Science

Dr. Dimitar Trajanov is a visiting research professor in the Department of Computer Science at Boston University’s Metropolitan College. His areas of expertise include data science, machine learning, semantic web, the sharing economy, web and mobile development, web programming, and ecommerce. He has professional experience as a software architect, as a senior data science consultant for a large pharmaceutical company, and as a data science consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in North Macedonia. Dr. Trajanov is the author of close to two hundred journal and conference papers and seven books. He has been involved in more than seventy research and industry projects, more than forty of those as project leader. He previously served as dean of the faculty of computer science and engineering at Saints Cyril and Methodius University in the Republic of Macedonia. As a member of Macedonia’s National Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship from 2012 to 2015, he created strategies and legislation to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the Republic and championed the use of technology to drive economic development. He also served Macedonia’s Ministry of Science and Education as president of the National Committee for Information and Communication Technology in Education.
