Rhythm & Brews Coffeehouse

Have some talent that you want to showcase? Then you have found the right place! Come to the Rhythm & Brews Coffeehouse to see your friends perform in front of a live audience. Enjoy some free coffee while you listen. Then stick around to hear one of the nation’s hottest new performers in a featured performance! As an accomplished pianist, singer and songwriter, Rob Gonzalez stands out in today’s guitar-ladden music scene. Gonzalez’s voice is akin to early Jackson Browne, with a nod to Van Morrison. His music is similar in style to the acoustic sensibilities of Norah Jones, Lyle Lovett, and Marc Cohn. Songwriting influences include artists that resonated on early 70s FM radio, such as Paul Simon, James Taylor and the Beatles. Gonzalez’s Midwest upbringing figures strongly into the themes of many of his songs. Raised in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gonzalez displayed a gifted ear for music by the age of five. He impressed early piano teachers with his ability to play with heart at a young age. By his late teen years, he was performing as a guest jazz pianist in nearby college faculty concerts. A year after high school, Gonzalez got his first full-time musician job, winning an audition to join a traveling hotel resort act. In 1991, he left the group to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston.
