My wife, Laura, and I were deeply moved by this tragedy. We are close friends of "Betillo" and his wife, Stacey. We send our prayers and warmest sympathies to Stacey and their families. Actually, "Betillo" was on his way to Mexico where we were supposed to have dinner with him on September 14th. We were extremely excited about meeting with him again. "Betillo", we will have that dinner when we rejoin with Our Lord, Jesus.

What happened last week was so despicable I can find no words in the English language that properly express my feelings. I wish only peace for the families of the victims of this horrible tragedy - especially for Stacey Montoya, wife of Carlos "Beto" Montoya. I worked with Carlos and his loss has affected all of us at Thomson so deeply I can only imagine how his family feels. God bless the USA.

I had the pleasure to meet Beto at the MBA. Beto and his wife Stacey are part of my BU MBA experience and I will always remember the great moments we all spent together. I wish Stacey and family all the strength you need during this very difficult time of your life.

My Wife Guille and I will always remember "Betillo" for his warm heart, his sincere soul, his sense of humour and the big smile he always had on his face. We were expecting Beto´s arrival in Mexico City that Tuesday, and had great plans for him. We were going to share our love for soccer by going to a big soccer game at the Aztec Satdium that week. We miss him very much!!! Beto I am sure we will catch that game some other time. Our prayers go to Stacey and their families.
Sincerely,
Alvaro & Guille

Beto, I had the privilege to be a recipient of your kindness, generosity and sincere concern for others. During our time in the MBA program, you were incessantly supportive and your contagious smile was always inviting and warm. You showed me that I should not be so serious because there is so much more to life to enjoy. You always made me laugh. I feel so lucky to have been touched by your friendship, and I will always remember you in all of your jolly greatness.
I send my deepest sympathy and respects to Stacey and other members of Beto’s family. Beto was loved by many.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that I heard Beto was one of the victims of this truly senseless attack on my city. I was angry before I received the news and now I am both angry and saddened. Beto was an incredibly genuine, funny and overall great guy. I feel extremely lucky that I had the privilege and pleasure to befriend him. I can't even begin to realize the loss his family must be experiencing. God bless Beto’s family, the USA and our effort to bring the murderers to justice.

Ciao Beto. I feel you next to me when I work, when I sleep, when I watch the disaster on TV, while I'm living. You'll be always alive in my heart. I see you soon, my friend.

Every year on 9-11 my thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. You were on one of my first teams in Grad School and I got to know you very well in that short time. A pleasure to work with and learn with. I still remember your stories of Columbia and your love of Futbol. Beto my friend, you are missed.

What can I say? Beto was a great inspiration in my life as Beto & I worked together when we were young adults in the Los Angeles area where we both lived.
He taught me a lot. He was funny, caring, disciplined, determined, very intelligent and always a go-getter. Always a pleasure to be around him, One of my best friends
When I heard the news and saw his name I just couldn't believe it until today when I just saw his picture then I confirmed it was him, then it got to me.
I will miss you Beto, but will forever remember you.
