Raymond Metz

Dear Ray - I will always remember you, your smile, your laugh, your comforting way. I am so proud that your path crossed my life. You were an amazing friend, making everyone feel special, checking in when too much time had passed, taking me to funerals. I never thought I would be at yours. Please know your memory and your goodness will live on.

Dear Ray, It seems like only yesterday that we were in junior high and high school together, going to class during the week and going out to parties on the weekends with our other good friends. You sent me an e-mail not too long ago suggesting that we all get together again and I really intended to follow up on it, thinking that it was a good idea. I wish that I had known then that there wouldn't be as much time as we thought there would be to share some time together and laugh like we used to. Your passing has reminded us all that we need to make time for the people in our lives, no matter how busy we are or think we are. You lived a good life, Ray. You were kind and generous, and you kept things in perspective. You were always fun to be around because you were genuine. You accepted people for who they were and never tried to "one-up" anyone. You were a good husband and father and a tremendous friend. I really wish that I could shake your hand again and just sit and talk for a while over a beer. I miss you bud. Dana

its incredible how this tradegy has affected so many people. thru this site i found out that a friend i knew 20 years ago, was killed on on 9/11 at the WTC. and he was a BU graduate. i knew Raymond Metz briefly in around the early 1980's, then we went our seperate ways. my deepest sympathies to his wife and family, and his parents. My life is full of reminders of you, Ray and so I am always thinking of you. I never kiss my daughter without thinking of you with yours and how they must miss you more than I do and how sad that makes us all.

I didn't know Ray in college, we met in Connecticut after the births of our first daughters and our families became friends. Glad to have known Ray, sad he is gone. Beyond sad for his family...hope somehow his daughters will know and be able to remember their dad as the great guy he was and how much he cared for them both. Miss you Ray. Put in a good word for me, will you? Just in case.

Raymond, I can't believe it's been 14 years since that day! The girls are growing to become people you would be so proud of. Patrice is sad but continues on! RIP
