National Day of Silence
On Friday, April 20, BU students took part in the National Day of Silence, in which students across the country bring attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. On the Charles River Campus, Q, Spectrum, and OUTLook planned a sit-in at Marsh Plaza, followed by a discussion at the Center for Gender, Sexuality, and Activism. Participating in the sit-in were Daniel Mello (SMG’13) (standing, far left), and (sitting, from left) Liz Douglass (STH’09), Marsh Chapel associate for the LGBTQ community, Jordan Wilkinson (GRS’11), Swanson Ninan (CAS’15), Michelle Weiser (COM’12), Jenni Tzanetopoulos (CFA’14), Varsha Subramanyam (CAS’14), and Ileana Tauscher (SMG’13).
