The Rake’s Progress
The CFA Opera Institute is performing Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, about a libertine who attempts to relive his life by making a bargain with Nick Shadow—the Devil himself? Only his ever-faithful fiancée, Anne Trulove, can save him from damnation, but is that enough? Composed by Igor Stravinsky, with a libretto by W. H. Auden and Chester Kallman, it is playing at the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre Thursday, February 27, through Sunday, March 1. Among the cast members: Frank Rosamond (CFA’20) (front, from left), Kaileigh Riess, (CFA’21), Eric Carey (CFA’20), Blake Jenning (CFA’20), and Rebecca Printz (CFA’20). Photo by Andrew Brilliant
