The Embrace
The design for The Embrace, a towering bronze sculpture on the Boston Common commemorating the partnership between Martin Luther King, Jr. (GRS’55, Hon.’59), and his wife, Coretta Scott King, who met while King was studying at BU, was approved by the Boston Arts Commission Wednesday. The 22-foot-high bronze sculpture by Hank Willis Thomas was chosen from five finalists by the nonprofit King Boston. Photo by Hank Willis Thomas Studio/MASS Design Group
