School of Law 150th Anniversary Gala

When the BU School of Law (the fledgling University’s second school) began in 1872, unlike most schools, it accepted women and people of all races and religious beliefs. Now, 150 years later, LAW is celebrating its long and distinguished history during the 2022-2023 academic year with special events and a commemorative book. Kicking off the sesquicentennial celebration on October 1 was a gala at the GSU for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. CBS legal analyst Rikki Klieman (LAW’75) (right) emceed the event and guest speaker sociopolitical comedian and filmmaker W. Kamau Bell (center) spoke of the importance of opening doors for others and inviting minorities into rooms with those who are successful. LAW Dean Angela Onwuachi-Willig (left) also spoke.
