Earth Day 2025: A Perfect Day to Plant the CFA Color Garden
Earth Day 2025, April 22, was a beautiful spring day, ideal for working on the CFA Color Garden, a student-led initiative creating a vibrant green space for experiential learning, research, and community connection next to the College of Fine Arts. Students, faculty, and other volunteers came out in force to prepare the area for new perennial plantings, including native, drought-tolerant, and pollinator-friendly flowers grown from seed by the Color Garden team or sourced from a local nursery. The team handed out tips for starting your own garden (indoors or outdoors), a map of favorite green spaces in Boston, info on forageable dye plants in the area, and recycling and composting tips.
