About ASOR Research

ASOR supports research of the history and archaeology of the eastern Mediterranean through its publications, the Annual Meeting, scholarships and fellowships, the affiliated overseas research centers (ACOR, AIAR, and CAARI), and the Committee on Archaeological Research and Policy (CAP). Historical archaeological research can be conducted in ASOR's archives, which contains collections documenting past excavations, and ASOR's contributions to the field of archaeology.

The Committee on Archaeological Research and Policy also manages ASOR's Policy on Preservation of Antiquities.

The Chair of CAP is currently Prof. Øystein LaBianca, who became Chair on January 1, 2009.

The Secretary of CAP is currently Prof. Benjamin Porter, who became Secretary on January 1, 2009.
